Pebble Blue Galaxy S III Encounters Setback with Battery Door

The Pebble Blue Samsung Galaxy S III has apparently been delayed in various regions due to a significant setback related to the rear battery door. Sources claim over 600,000 back panels had to be tossed to the garbage and re-manufactured, causing a delay in production plans. Delays have been confirmed in Dubai, New Zealand, Belgium, Netherlands,Luxembourg, Thailand, Malaysia, Sweden and other areas of the world. The UK seems unaffected at the moment.

Samsung plans to release the Marble White color option on schedule in the affected markets, but Blue units may not be shipped on time. Since the US Galaxy S3 models are likely to be designed differently and aren’t expected to arrive until later this summer, we’re hopeful any issues related to the manufacturing process will be resolved by then. We’ll keep you posted.
