Verizon Wireless announced that it would add a new global-ready Android smartphone, the Pantech Perception, to its arsenal on April 25th. The Perception has a large 4.8-inch 720p HD display, 16GB of internal storage, an 8 megapixel rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera and it supports Big Red’s 4G LTE network. The device will be launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but Verizon is already planning an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the near future. The Perception was likely named in relation to one of its highlighted features, called Motion Sense. Motion Sense enables users to wave a hand over the phone to answer calls, scroll through contacts, switch tracks during music playback or navigate photos from the gallery. Look for the Pantech Perception this Thursday on Verizon for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new or renewing two-year agreement.
