According to “industry sources” familiar with the situation, HTC is planning to compete directly with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note II by jumping head first into the phablet market this Fall. Scheduled to launch in either September or October, HTC’s massive Android smartphone-tablet hybrid will apparently sport a 5-inch display with 1794×1080 resolution – that would be 1920×1080 including on-screen navigational keys. A GLBenchmark result seems to confirm such a device, also noting a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 320 graphics and Verizon 4G LTE connectivity. Other specs and details were not mentioned, so we’ll have to wait for further leaks or rumors as the summer comes to a close.
