A “trusted source” has revealed that HTC is heading into 2012 with a new strategy in play. They are supposedly planning to focus on quality rather than quantity next year, thus releasing less smartphones overall in comparison to 2011. The first quarter is reportedly going to be rather quiet for HTC, but two upcoming flagship models for AT&T have been tipped by the source.
HTC is said to be working on a new Windows Phone that’s similar to the HTC Titan with its 4.7-inch display. The difference-maker is that it will run on AT&T’s 4G LTE network. It could very well be the first LTE-equipped Windows Phone to hit the market in 2012. The tipster also mentioned that the device is due to launch on February 5th, so we imagine it will be announced at CES in Las Vegas.
On the Android side, the HTC Elite, which could launch at the HTC Congressional, is due out in the first or second week of April. It will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and feature Beats Audio technology. The Congressional joins the HTC Ville and HTC Edge for rumored Android handsets for 2012.
