In this video, we go hands on with the Motorola DROID 4 from Verizon Wireless. It’s an improvement on the DROID 3 thanks to its ability to connect to Verizon’s 4G LTE network and the revamped keyboard with edge-lit keys. It’s also the thinnest smartphone with a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard. Under the hood, it’s powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 4-inch qHD scratch/scrape resistant glass display. It also has two shooters, an 8 megapixel rear camera with 1080p video capture and a front-facing camera. The water repellent nanocoating allows the device to be splash resistant as well. It’s currently running Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, but an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is just around the corner.

Accessories compatible with DROID 4 include the 10.1-inch Lapdock 100, 14-inch Lapdock 500 Pro with built-in webcam and Ethernet connection, HD Dock, HD Station and vehicle navigation mount. Look for the Motorola DROID 4 in Verizon stores and online in the coming weeks.
