HTC CEO Peter Chou showed off a white version of the upcoming M7 Android smartphone at an end of the year company party in Taiwan. While we’re used to devices being leaked months in advance of their official announcements, it’s usually not from the manufacturer itself. It’s unclear whether this was a controlled leak or a misstep out of excitement on Chou’s part, but several attendees filmed and released video footage of the whole scene. You can view the actual video of Chou flashing the M7 here, and there’s also a bonus clip of him leading a rowdy “M7″ chant below.

The HTC M7 is scheduled to be announced at a pre-MWC 2013 event on February 19 in New York and London. Preliminary specs of the device include: a 4.7-inch 1080p FHD display at 468 ppi, Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 13-megapixel camera, 4G LTE connectivity, 2300 mAh battery, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5.0.
