Verizon Samsung SCH-I545 Could Be Galaxy S IV with 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Quad-Core Processor

An unannounced Samsung smartphone with SCH-I545 model number appeared in a recent NenaMark2 benchmark listing. The handset is apparently equipped with a 1.9Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor with Adreno 320 graphics, 1920x1080p display, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. We’re thinking it’s the next-generation 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600, not to be confused with Snapdragon 800, because the Snapdragon S4 Pro is current generation and supposed to max out at 1.7GHz clock speeds.

The SCH-I545 model number, a step above the Galaxy S III SCH-I535, suggests it could very well be the Verizon Wireless version of the Samsung Galaxy S IV. If so, the decision to go with Qualcomm over Samsung’s in-house next-gen Exynos 5 Octa 8-Core processor and Mali-T658 8-Core GPU would be a bit of a surprise. Perhaps there are issues with production, timing or maybe the Exynos chip isn’t playing well with Verizon’s LTE network. It could also be a completely different device altogether. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on the situation, but hopefully this will all be sorted by March 15.
