UPDATE: Xperia Z vs ZL video added!

Press images for the upcoming Sony Xperia Z (C660X, Yuga) and Xperia ZL (C650X, Odin) smartphones have emerged this New Year’s day. Both Android-powered handsets are expected to be showcased by Sony Mobile at CES 2013 in Las Vegas next week and we’ll be there to cover them if that happens to be the case. Rumors suggest each device will be equipped with high-end features like a 5-inch 1080p Full HD display, Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz quad-core processor, Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and a 13 megapixel Exmor RS camera. The Xperia Z will also be water and dust resistant. While the Xperia ZL has similar core features, it certainly has its share of design differences as well. The ZL is reportedly thicker/heavier than the Z, its front-facing camera is oddly placed on the bottom right of the device, an Xperia Miro-like notification light is present along the bottom, and it’s rumored to sport a textured back. The image leak also reveals a dedicated camera key on the ZL. We’ll be sure to report back from CES (January 8-11) with more information and video coverage.
