NBC to stream Super Bowl XLVI on Verizon smartphones

Today, the NFL announced that NBC will be live streaming the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl and wild-card playoff games on the Web and Verizon smartphones (NFL Mobile app) this year.

“We are pleased to work with our partners NBC and Verizon to bring our fans more ways to watch their favorite sport during their favorite time of the year,” said Hans Schroeder, NFL senior vice president of media strategy and development.

Last year’s Super Bowl game pulled in 111 million viewers. Super Bowl XLVI will take place on February 5, 2012 in Indianapolis.
