NBC wants to get their viewers prepared with two official smartphone apps, called NBC Olympics and NBC Olympics Live Extra, for Android and iOS (iPhone, iPad). If executed properaly, you’re in for a treat because the two apps are said to cover 32 sports, 204 Nations, 302 medal events, and 3,500 live hours of video footage. You can look up news, results, stats, schedules, TV/Online listings, medal counts, video replays, photos and more. Access to live streaming and full replay video features is free for subscribers to a cable, satellite or telco TV service package that includes CNBC and MSNBC in the US. Notes: NBC Olympics video is only accessible in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories. The application requires a 3G, 4G or WiFi data connection. Further instructions are provided in the app settings section. It seems Windows Phone and BlackBerry users are out of luck and will need to stick with the NBC Olympics mobile website.
