At a Huawei retail shop in Guangzhou yesterday, executive Richard Yu showcased the upcoming Ascend Mate phablet and its mind-boggling 6.1-inch 1080p Full HD LTPS display (361ppi). That easily trumps the Samsung Galaxy Note II’s 5.5-inch 720p screen. Huawei’s smartphone-tablet hybrid was previously rumored to feature a 1.8GHz HiSilicon K3V3 quad-core processor, 4,000mAh battery, and 9.9mm thick body. The Ascend Mate will join the Ascend W1 and D2 when they’re announced at CES 2013 early next month – we’ll be there!
