Google Nexus 10 Android Tablet Coming Later in 2012?

Thinking about picking up an Asus Nexus 7 tablet from Google? You may want to think twice if you prefer a tablet of the larger variety as a new rumor has popped up suggesting Google could launch a 10-inch tablet later this year. According to Digitimes’ sources, Google is planning a Nexus 10 with OGS (one glass solution) touch panels provided from AU Optronics (AUO) and Wintek. Wintek shipped 500,000 OGS panels to Google in June for the production of the Nexus 7. Wintek has been shipping these panels to various clients and the company chainrman, Hyley Huang, expects OGS to become mainstream in 2013.

This news certainly fits under the rumor category for now, but it’s important to note that Digitimes was on point with several Nexus 7 rumors months prior to its unveiling, including information on the manufacturer, delays, shipments, release time-frame, pricing and specs. It’s unclear if the rumored Nexus 10 will also be made by Asus, but it’s likely to be priced much higher than $200-250, regardless of manufacturer. Will it run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or an even newer iteration of Google’s mobile OS?
