As part of Samsung’s big promotional push for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, guests at the new Holiday Inn London Stratford City, located next to the Olympic Park, will be able to use the Galaxy S III Android smartphone to completely control their hotel rooms. Through an Android app, guests will be able to use the Galaxy S3 to check-in/out, order room service, schedule laundry services, book hotel facilities, and unlock/lock the door as if it were a room key. Furthermore, the handset can be used as a remote control for the TV, AC system, lighting and other in-room media features. The app also delivers information on Olympic events, results, location-based offers and news updates. The end-to-end hospitality solution will initially be available in 40 rooms for VIPs staying at the hotel.
