After its successful launch event in NYC today, Microsoft wants the world to meet Windows Phone 8 on a more personal level, so, naturally, Joe Belfiore is on hand to offer his best sales pitch and demonstrations in the lengthy 19-minute video above. The Corporate VP of Windows Phone shows off new Windows Phone 8 features, like Kid’s Corner, Rooms, Live Apps, and more. Check it out to learn more about the significant update to the platform. You can also view other helpful videos from the official Windows Phone YouTube channel.

As I previously mentioned in another article, consumers in the U.S. can expect to see devices from HTC, Samsung and Nokia this fall and holiday season. Verizon Wireless has now fully adopted the platform by announcing the HTC Windows Phone 8X, Nokia Lumia 822 and Samsung ATIV Odyssey. AT&T will offer the Nokia Lumia 920, the Lumia 820 and HTC Windows Phone 8X. Similarly, T-Mobile has its sights on the Nokia Lumia 810 and HTC Windows Phone 8X. Sprint, unfortunately, decided to sit this one out, again.

The Windows Phone Store now has 120,000 apps. Here are some of the apps and games coming to Windows Phone by the end of the year: Temple Run, Jetpack Joyride, Angry Birds Star Wars, Angry Birds Space, Draw Something, Words with Friends, Urban Spoon, Fairway Solitaire, Asphalt 7: Heat, Living Social, Cut the Rope, and Disney’s Where’s My Water and Where’s My Perry.
