We’ve seen smartphones integrated with facial recognition technology and fingerprint readers in the past. Well, this brief clip from CEATEC 2012 shows a demo of KDDI’s new palm print authentication app for Android smartphones. It essentially allows users to unlock their devices using the rear camera and an app that registers and scans your palm print signature. You can see how it works on an HTC J in the video above. It’s currently available to download as a free demo from Google Play in Japan. KDDI plans to package future smartphones with the software once it’s finalized.
