At the 2013 Intel Developer Forum in Beijing, China, ZTE announced the oddly-named GEEK smartphone. Like the Lenovo K900, the GEEK will be one of the first Android devices to market with the Intel Atom Z2580 (Clover Trail+) 2GHz dual-core processor. To go along with Intel’s latest mobile chipset, the GEEK, which runs Android 4.x Jelly Bean, features a 5-inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, an 8 megapixel rear camera, 1MP front-facing camera, and 2300mAh battery.

“Our recent collaboration with Intel on the ZTE GEEK builds off of the success of the Grand Series and further enhances our competitiveness in the high-end smartphone market,” said ZTE EVP and Head of Mobile He Shiyou. “This partnership also will improve customer experiences by providing them with more choices in the market.”

ZTE claims the Clover Trail+ chip is twice as fast for computing and three times as fast for graphics compared to its predecessor. Exact pricing and launch details were not mentioned in the press release.
