ZTE has joined the super-sized smartphone club with today’s announcement of the 5.7-inch Grand Memo at MWC 2013 in Barcelona, Spain. The Grand Memo seems to be the first Android handset powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, at least the first to be officially announced.

A rundown of the specs, beyond the 5.7″ 720p display and Snapdragon 800 CPU, includes 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13 megapixel rear camera, 1MP front-facing camera, MHL, DLNA, and a 3200mAh battery. It’s slated to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the gates.

“The ZTE Grand Memo’s large, high definition screen makes it perfect for media and entertainment, but its uses reach far beyond that,” said head of ZTE Mobile He Shiyou. “With ZTE’s custom Mifavor UI, a powerful processor, and LTE connectivity, this device offers users a wide array of benefits that go well beyond the capabilities of the typical handset.”

The ZTE Grand Memo will be released in Q2 of 2013 in China and select markets in Europe.
