Last month, we demoed ESPN’s live streaming application for iOS. Now, the WatchESPN app has been released for Android. It allows 24/7 live streaming of some of ESPN’s main channels: ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN 3 and ESPN U. It’s free for those who subscribe to ESPN through Time Warner Cable, Brighthouse Networks, or Verizon FIOS TV. Those of you who receive high-speed Internet service from Verizon will have access to ESPN 3. The good news is that they left a note saying, “please check back regularly as new TV providers are added.” If you qualify now, grab the free WatchESPN app from the Android Market.
Note: requires Adobe AIR and Android 2.2 or higher.
UPDATE: video demo of the Android version below.
