Verizon to Release HTC One Android Flagship Confirms Insider

It appears the HTC One will land on Verizon Wireless after all. The Taiwanese manufacturer previously announced the flagship Android smartphone for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile with Verizon left out of the loop at the time. According to a source close to the matter, however, Verizon will indeed release an HTC One, but it won’t be available until a month or two later as it’s still going through the testing gauntlet. That means we should expect Big Red to carry the device in either April or May.

After fragmenting the One brand with the launch of the One X, One V and One S across multiple carriers last year, HTC has clearly shifted strategy by focusing efforts on a single flagship device that can be recognized globally. Samsung initially took a similar path with its Galaxy S brand before ultimately finding success with a uniform design in the Galaxy S III and likely the Galaxy S IV. HTC could benefit from the One line in a similar fashion.
