The Samsung Transform Ultra is headed to Sprint. This one may appeal to customers who don’t mind trading in high-end specs for a phone with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The Transform Ultra features a 3.5-inch HVGA display, single-core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor, 512MB of RAM, 2GB of internal storage, 3 megapixel rear-facing camera, VGA front-facing camera, 1,500mAh battery, and it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Unfortunately, this mid-range handset only supports Sprint’s 3G network. While pricing and availability were not announced, the presence of the press release alone points to a release sooner rather than later. Hopefully this device will carry a hugely discounted price because the year-old Samsung Epic 4G, currently reduced to just $99, offers a similar package with beefier specs.
