In this video from CES 2013, Sony talks about the Xperia Z / ZL Android smartphone and the one-touch mirroring functionality, which allows sharing content from phone to TV using Miracast and NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities built into the new Bravia KDL-W900A LED HD 3DTV and its accompanying remote control. Most current smartphones can only use micro-HDMI or MHL to HDMI cables to mirror to TVs, but connecting devices wirelessly through a direct WiFi connection will soon be the norm. Sony takes it a step further by using NFC to quickly pair Miracast-enabled devices together, thus the “one touch mirroring” moniker. Sony sums it up best by saying, “no wires, cables, or fiddling with settings necessary.”
