Sony Mobile just announced the Xperia Tablet Z for the Japanese Market. The sleek XTZ Android tablet features a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920×1200) Reality Display powered by the Mobile Bravia Engine 2, Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz quad-core processor with Adreno 320 graphics, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot, an 8.1 megapixel rear camera, a 2.2MP front-facing camera, S-Force surround sound technology, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC & Miracast capabilities for one-touch mirroring, 4G LTE connectivity, and a 6000mAh battery. The waterproof/dustproof design measures just 6.9mm thick and weighs only 495g, which will go a long way in making it one of the most attractive tablets on the market in regards to durability and portability. As for software, it will run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box when it lands in Japan sometime in Spring 2013. This one should make a fine companion to the recently unveiled Sony Xperia Z smartphone, too. Some more press images of the new Xperia Tablet Z posted after the jump.
