Teardowns of smartphones and tablets are typically orchestrated by the folks at iFixit these days, but the makers of the Xperia Tablet S decided to take this one into their own hands. In the time-lapsed video below, you will see Sony engineer Takuya Inaba rip apart the new Android tablet and put it back together in about 45 seconds. If you want to see stills of the process, hit up the source link for a full array of teardown images.

The Xperia Tablet S features a 9.4-inch HD OptiContrast display, Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, full-sized SD card slot, slimmer aluminum body splash-proof design, and Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s available now in select markets in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models which are priced at $399, $499 and $599, respectively.
