Samsung is sending out invitations for an upcoming media event scheduled for August 29th in NYC. Notice the words “major product announcement” along the top and the big “II” placed at the bottom of the invite? It appears Samsung is ready to unleash the details of the US-bound Galaxy S II Android variant(s). It’s unclear if all four major US carriers will get their respective announcements at the event, but we’d say there’s a pretty good chance. The AT&T Attain, Sprint Within (Epic 4G Touch), Verizon Function (Stratosphere?), and T-Mobile Hercules should all make their presence felt. Some of those devices have even been linked to a September release, so we’ll finally get confirmation on whether that’s true or not. We’ll let you know more on August 29th at 6PM ET!
