Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Android Tablet to Cost $150?

There’s a rumor floating around that Samsung intends to price its upcoming Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Android Jelly Bean tablet anywhere from $149 to $199. This would undercut the equally sized 7-inch 16GB Google Nexus 7 by $50, which would make the GT3 7.0 an instant hit if its specs are up to par. It’s possible the rumored pricing structure actually reveals the price-point for multiple tablets. The WiFi-only GT-P3200 could go for $149 while the 3G/WiFi-equipped GT-P3210 could cost $199, although we’re just speculating at this point. The same report also puts the slightly larger Galaxy Note 8.0 (GT-N5100, GT-N5110) tablet with integrated S Pen digital stylus in the $249 to $299 range. Apple’s iPad Mini is currently priced at $329.

Having an impressive lineup of affordable tablets could certainly help Samsung reach its goal of shipping 40 million units in 2013. Look for the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 to join the larger Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 in the first half of 2013. The Galaxy Note 8 will be announced at MWC 2013 in late February and it’s expected to release in the first half of the year as well.
