The following is a preliminary list of Samsung smartphones and tablets to be updated to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. The update path includes Galaxy devices released over the past two years.
According to the source, numerous devices will be updated to Android 4.2.2, including the Galaxy S2 and original Galaxy Note. Unfortunately, that means neither of these devices will receive the next major iteration of Android, at least if this rumor holds true. On the other hand, Samsung will purportedly upgrade five devices to Android 5.0: the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Note 8.0. That’s not too surprising, but we thought we’d pass the information along anyway. For those who are disappointed that their device did not make the cut, rest assured there’s word Samsung will release value pack updates for select devices that may introduce Key Lime Pie-like features to older software. You can check out the full support list below, but keep in mind it’s only a rumor at this point.
