Samsung Galaxy S Gets Value Pack Update with ICS Features

Samsung has started pushing out the watered-down Ice Cream Sandwich experience upgrade, known as the “Value Pack” update, to original Galaxy devices in Korea. The Samsung Tomorrow site lists Gingerbread and Froyo updates for the Galaxy S, Galaxy K and Galaxy U handsets. While the update isn’t Android 4.0, it does add Ice Cream Sandwich-like features, including Face Unlock, the ability to snap photos while recording video, and launcher enhancements. Users of these devices can head to Samsung for more information. It’s still unclear at this point if Samsung plans to deliver the same package to U.S. Galaxy S smartphones, like the Sprint Epic 4G, Verizon Fascinate, AT&T Captivate and T-Mobile Vibrant, but we’ll keep an eye on the situation.
