The Samsung Galaxy Chat was announced today as an Android smartphone designed for socially-active users. Powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the Chat sports a 3-inch QVGA display with a front-facing full QWERTY keyboard just below it. It combines the benefits of the traditional BlackBerry-like form factor with the functionality of a modern touchscreen. Samsung also implemented a dedicated ChatON key to give users quick access to the communication service. A 2 megapixel rear camera, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD cart slot, and a 1200mAh battery round out the hardware specs. The Galaxy Chat will first launch in July in Spain, followed by Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, China, Southeast Asia, and Southwest Asia. Pricing was not disclosed.
