Samsung apparently refuses to accept failure, as they’ve just announced a redesigned Galaxy Beam smartphone. The newer model features a 1GHz dual-core processor (up from single-core 800MHz), 4-inch WVGA display (up from 3.7″), 5 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB of internal storage, 2000mAh battery, 12.5mm profile, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The highlight of the handset is the built-in Pico Projector on the top, which is capable of projecting a 50-inch wide image at 15 lumens (up from 6-9 lumens). Sounds like a solid handset with a unique ability to project media for others. Perhaps, the original was just ahead of its time?
