The Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 may just be the new king of mobile processors. The S4 Pro quad-core chipset with Adreno 320 graphics core was benchmarked by the good folks at Engadget and the results are nothing short of impressive. As you can see in the image above and chart below, the APQ8064 easily outscored the quad-core Tegra 3-powered HTC One X smartphone and Google Nexus 7 tablet, as well as the Exynos 4412-based Galaxy S III handset. That’s quite a feat considering all three devices are huge fan favorites.

The S4 Pro chip is currently being showcased on a developer tablet with the following specs: Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core 1.5GHz processor, Adreno 320 Graphics, 2GB of RAM, 10.1-inch WXGA (1280×800) display, 13 megapixel rear camera, 32GB of internal storage and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Look for devices with the APQ8064 processor later this year.
