OnLive is now available for Android and iOS. If you’ve never heard of the service, it basically allows you to play console-class games via the cloud – and now it’s compatible with smartphones and tablets. We briefly took the app for a spin and found that it worked quite well for an initial release. Even fast-paced racing games were surprisingly easy to control and gameplay was somewhat smooth over WiFi or 4G LTE. Naturally, visual quality will take a hit in order to stream games with as little lag as possible. The graphics were blurred and watered down, but bearable. Many games in the OnLive Marketplace have free trials available, so head over to the Android Market to download the app for free. While some games are fully touch-capable, keep in mind that the majority require the use of a controller or mouse/keyboard to play. Check out the promo video and feature list below.
