While Samsung confirmed last week that the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note would get updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in Q1 of 2012, legacy Galaxy users were still awaiting news about the future of their devices. Unfortunately, Samsung finally made the announcement we were all expecting: no Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the original Galaxy S or Galaxy Tab. They actually blame their own TouchWiz UX (UI, Widgets, etc) as the main culprit, as it requires too much memory and supposedly leaves little left over to coexist with ICS. So, there you have, Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab users will have to get their Ice Cream Sandwich fix through unofficial means.
