We first learned of the upcoming Sony Xperia Tablet through a series of slides at the end of July. Now, some new press shots of the Tegra 3-powered device have leaked out. As you can see in the following image, the form factor of the tablet has been polished off and streamlined compared to the Tablet S. The folded magazine design along the back is less pronounced and has essentially been halved, which explains how Sony was able to make the successor 42% thinner and lighter than its predecessor. The “Xperia” branding, typically reserved for Sony’s smartphones, can easily be spotted on the protruding handle as well. More details should be revealed when the Xperia Tablet is announced at IFA 2012 on August 29. Until then, you can enjoy looking through the press photos and preliminary specifications below.
