Motorola is either teasing a new smartphone announcement or they’re inadvertently misleading their fans with a silly game on Facebook and Twitter. The handset manufacturer posted a mystery image saying, “Let’s play a game, Guess the Smartphone.” Motorola will give a clue each day, the first of which is “I have the power of 4G LTE,” until the device is fully revealed on Friday, August 10. If a new phone will be unveiled at the end of the week, the Verizon Droid RAZR HD, also known globally as the RAZR HD, is on deck after being leaked multiple times in recent weeks. We’ll keep track of Moto’s clues throughout the week and report back if anything relevant comes from them.
UPDATE: As I suspected above, it turns out Motorola was simply playing a game with their fans. A new device will not to be announced, as the mystery phone in question is actually already available in the US market. View the clarification statement in the first image below.
