Motorola has updated their customers on the status of potential Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades again. They’ve narrowed down some releases to a specific quarter for the year and added some more smartphones and tablets to the list.
The WiFi-only Xoom in the U.S. has already received Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (in January). The worldwide WiFi-only Xoom, Xoom Family Edition, MT917, XT928, RAZR XT910/S/K (Asia), and RAZR (Europe, Middle East, Africa, Canada, Latin America & Mexico) will begin getting their ICS upgrades in Q2 2012 (April, May or June). The XYBoard 8.2, XYBoard 10.1, Xoom 2, Xoom 2 Media Edition, Atrix 2, Atrix MB860/MB861, AT&T Atrix 4G, and Sprint Photon 4G will be upgraded to Android 4.0 in Q3 2012 (July, August or September). The Droid Bionic, Droid RAZR, Droid RAZR MAXX, and Droid 4 from Verizon Wireless, as well as the Electrify from U.S. Cellular will also be upgraded, though an exact time-frame was not disclosed. We imagine those devices could receive updates anytime within Q2-Q3.
