LG just announced an “intelligent voice recognition” app for their Android smartphones. The in-house app, called “Quick Voice,” will directly rival Apple’s Siri (iPhone) and Samsung’s S Voice (Galaxy S III) by implementing voice activated features on a select number of their Optimus line of smartphones.
The app is apparently capable of handling commands linked to 11 applications, such as functions related to voice calls, texts, contacts, alarms, maps, weather, stocks, a web search, YouTube, and the calendar. It can even check lunar calendar dates, at least if you’re in Korea.
Quick Voice will be available via software upgrade between the end of June through July for the Optimus Vu and Optimus LTE II. It’s unclear if any other LG devices will get the update in the near future.
