LG announced a 5.5-inch variant of the Optimus G Pro Android smartphone for Korea last week, but failed to mention exact details of the re-imagined handset. Outside of the larger display and battery, most expected the rest of the internals to be identical to the previously announced Optimus G Pro for the Japanese market. However, today, LG revealed a surprise about what’s powering the newest Optimus G Pro. Originally assumed to be equipped with an overclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, it’s now confirmed that the Korean Optimus G Pro is powered by the latest Snapdragon 600 1.7GHz quad-core processor, which was unveiled in January at CES 2013. That’s a significant upgrade that makes the Optimus G Pro brand that much more appealing. Peep the rest of the specs below.
