Japan is well-known for offering some of the more unique smartphones around the globe, and the INFOBAR series definitely falls under that category. Back in May of 2011, KDDI unveiled the INFOBAR A01 Android smartphone, which featured a rather interesting hardware design and refreshing iida user interface. Now, KDDI will offer a similar experience, but in a different form factor. Meet the INFOBAR C01, a handset that’s equipped with a modern-day touchscreen and classic number pad. The result is a compact, lightweight smartphone running Android 2.3 Gingerbread and the aforementioned iidaUI.

The INFOBAR C01 also features a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor, 3.2-inch FWVGA display with 306 pixel density, an 8 megapixel shooter, 1020mAh battery, 1seg TV, Osaifu-Keitai (mobile wallet), IR blaster, and global CDMA/GSM cellular capability. KDDI and Okinawa Cellular will release the INFOBAR C01 on February 3rd. Promotional video showing the C01 in action after the jump.
