An HTC smartphone with CDMA and WiMax (4G) capabilities has just hit the FCC, so which device could it be? Due to the technologies at play here, we’re bound to assume it’s a Sprint device. The only upcoming HTC Sprint devices that we know of include the HTC EVO Shift 4G and HTC 7 Pro. The former, previously codenamed Speedy/Knight, is believed to be Sprint’s variant of the Desire Z, G2, and Merge Android handsets. This is probably the device most are expecting to be associated with the FCC appearance. We’d like to think it’s the latter of the two guesses, seeing how it would be a huge surprise to find out that the 7 Pro is 4G ready, but it’s probably not likely. The HTC 7 Pro will be Sprint’s first Windows Phone 7 offering, and it sports a rather amazing looking slide-out keyboard. Nonetheless, it’s exciting to prepare for yet another HTC smartphone release. Any guesses on a release date?
