Jeff Gordon, Global Online Communications Manager for HTC, confirmed today that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates are in the works for the HTC One X, One XL and One S smartphones.

“We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.”

This news was expected, but it’s good to hear HTC finally address specific devices. Curiously missing from the list is the HTC EVO 4G LTE, but I suppose that one will take longer due to its belated release. Also, the HTC One V didn’t get a mention, but that may be due to its lower-end specs. It could be quite some time before HTC upgrades any phones from their 2011 lineup. Samsung, Motorola, LG and Asus are due to make statement of their own soon.
