Wallet, meet cloud. The new Google Wallet app for Android is now cloud-based and supports all credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Payment cards are saved to highly secure Google severs rather than in the secure storage area of your smartphone. A wallet ID, or virtual card number, is stored in the secure storage area of the handset, which is used to facilitate transactions. Essentially, consumers can quickly use any card when shopping in-store or online at participating merchants with Google Wallet. In cases of lost phones, the new app also allows users to remotely disable the mobile wallet app from the “devices” section in the online wallet on the Web. The new Google Wallet app is now on Google Play.
