Fantastic news just emerged for owners of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus HSPA+. Google has started rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the device. The upgrade, which updates the smartphone from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean, delivers new features to the Galaxy Nexus, like expandable/actionable notifications, re-sizable widgets, a smarter keyboard, a redesigned search experience, Google Now and buttery smooth performance enhancements. Read more about Jelly Bean here.

Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ devices will receive an automatic update alert over the next few days. Google doesn’t specifically mention the Verizon Galaxy Nexus 4G LTE, however, they do say that “all” Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, and Motorola Xoom devices are next in line. Hopefully, Verizon users don’t have to wait six months like they did with the previous incremental update.
