Manu Cornet, a Google employee, posted this cool “Android Evolution” comic strip on his Google+ page over the weekend. As you know, each major version upgrade for Android is accompanied by a tasty treat moniker. Going down the drawing from left to right we have Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich and most recently Jelly Bean. Interestingly enough, the Googler / cartoonist decided to tack on a little something extra at the end of the sketch – the famous BugDroid eating a Key Lime Pie. That seems like an obvious and substantial hint that we should expect Key Lime Pie to be the code-name for the next big update. Of course, Cornet now claims that the drawing was “just for fun,” but previous leaks beg to differ. At this point, we’re more interested in which build number we should expect Key Lime Pie to debut: Android 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 5.0?
