Have you seen the limited edition Motorola R2D2 Droid 2 from Verizon Wireless? It’s a revamped Droid 2 with a complete Star Wars theme. The body resembles everyone’s favorite astro-mech droid, R2-D2, and even the software comes packed with some Star Wars fanfare. There’s an R2D2 boot animation that can be installed onto rooted Android devices, but today we’re covering the Star Wars Live Wallpapers (root not necessary). The video below shows the four live wallpapers running on an HTC EVO 4G. R2D2, space slugs, asteroids and the Millennium Falcon are all here in the form of animated backgrounds.
To get them on your Android, download the APK files from XDA-developers, then install them using a file explorer like “ASTRO browser.” After that, you’re all set to activate them like any other live wallpaper you’ve used. If you’re a fan of Star wars, you may also want to check out some Android lightsaber apps.
