Earlier today, Netflix released an update to their movie/TV show streaming application for Android. The update added support for more devices, which makes the list over 20 devices long. If you look through the list, you’ll notice it now supports the Lenovo IdeaPad, which is an Android Honeycomb tablet. That’s the first time we’ve seen support for Honeycomb when it comes to the Netflix Android app. And, to our surprise, the ripped APK file actually runs great on other Honeycomb tablets too, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Motorola Xoom and others. We decided to take it for a spin on our Galaxy Tab 10.1 to see how it runs. Check out our video review below then download the APK file from XDA-developers (mirror) to manually install it on your Honeycomb tablet.
Officially supported devices:
• Casio G’zOne Commando C771 with Android 2.2
• HTC Droid Incredible
• HTC Droid Incredible 2
• HTC EVO
• HTC EVO 3D
• HTC G2
• HTC Thunderbolt
• Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet
• LG Revolution
• Motorola Atrix
• Motorola Droid
• Motorola Droid X
• Motorola Droid X2
• Motorola Droid 2
• Motorola Droid 3
• Samsung Droid Charge
• Samsung Epic 4G
• Samsung Galaxy S
• Samsung Galaxy S 4G
• Samsung Fascinate
• Samsung Nexus S
• Samsung Nexus S 4G
Update: as you can see in the video above, the APk installs and works on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. However, one of our commenters on YouTube noted that it doesn’t work on his Asus Transformer. So, it appears not all Tegra 2 Honeycomb tablets can run it, unfortunately.
