AT&T was noticeably absent when Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile and US Cellular all announced the Samsung Galaxy S III in unison this morning. Well, it seems AT&T may have purposefully deviated from the pack in order to reveal a special surprise this evening. While AT&T customers will be able to pre-order the expected 16GB Galaxy S3 in Pebble Blue or Marble White for $199.99 beginning June 6 (release date undisclosed), they can also wait until later this summer to purchase an exclusive Red version of the popular device. That would make Red, White and Blue color options. Is it a stretch to assume the Red variant will be launched around the 4th of July? Read on for specs, features and another image.

“The addition of the Samsung Galaxy S III to our portfolio of 4G-LTE devices gives our customers another truly cutting-edge smartphone to choose from,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices, AT&T Mobility. “With an exclusive red color this summer and the power of the nation’s largest 4G network, AT&T delivers the best wireless experience for Galaxy S III fans.”
