Today, Asus launched its 7-inch MeMO Pad Android 4.1 Jelly Bean tablet, which appears to resemble the Google Nexus 7 at first glance. While the two devices look similar, the MeMO Pad isn’t as feature-packed as the Nexus-branded tablet. The MeMO Pad sports a 7″ LED Backlight 1024×600 display, 1GHz VIA WM8950 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (expandable with microSD card), and a 1 megapixel front-facing camera. It also has a contrasting diamond-patterned finish on the back and comes in three colors options: Titanium Gray, Cherry Pink and Sugar White.
On a positive note, this one is priced at just $149. Will consumers forgo the more appealing Nexus 7 for a similar-looking low-end tablet that costs $50 less? Asus seems to think so. Full specs and image gallery after the break.
