The Amazon Appstore is a capable alternative to the Android Market, but up until now users were unable to disable or customize notifications. It’s been quite annoying for those of us who rarely use the Appstore, especially since the notification system seems to be broken most of the time. However, with the latest 2.2.0 update, Amazon is finally allowing users of their Appstore to decide for themselves whether to enable or disable notifications. You should receive an automatic update notification soon if you haven’t already.
Amazon Appstore 2.2.0 Changelog:
- New notification settings: Enable or disable notifications for download/installation, app updates, status bar
- Improved messaging regarding payment options
- Overall stability improvements and bug fixes
