Amazon opened its Mobile App Distribution Portal to Android developers in Japan in October, but now, in late November, the Web giant is ready to transition to the next phase in the process. That’s right, the Amazon Appstore, or アンドロイド アプリストア in this case, is now open for business to the Japanese market as an alternative to the Google Play Store. Developers like Yahoo Japan, Square Enix, Halfbrick, G5 Entertainment, ZeptoLab, TuneIn, Design Inc., SoundHound, SEGA, TOMY, TinyCo, and The Weather Channel have shown support for the App Store. Amazon’s presser mentions the immediate availability of hit apps and games such as Fruit Ninja, Cut the Rope, Mushroom Garden, and Yahoo! Headline. Aside from Japan and the U.S., the Amazon Appstore also currently supports the U.K., Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
